TWO places in the final for University of Hertfordshire and Smart Resourcing Solutions ACE partnership as ISE unveils Student Development Awards finalists

The Institute of Student Employers (ISE) has revealed the finalists in its annual Student Development Awards, which recognise and reward organisations committed to training and developing student talent.

Smart Resourcing Solutions and University of Hertfordshire have been listed in two categories:

  • Best Preparation for Work: Single Initiative Award

  • Best Supplier Contribution Award

A panel of learning and development professionals will judge the shortlist and the winners will be announced at the ISE Student Development Conference and Awards in London on 28 March.

Stephen Isherwood, Chief Executive at the ISE said: “We’re delighted at the number and high quality of entrants. Every year the bar is raised a little higher, which is testament to the investment and commitment of our industry to nurture and develop students.”

Both award entries focus on the Assessment Centre Experience (ACE) programme which is an employability collaboration between the university and Smart Resourcing Solutions. We believe ACE to be the largest scale assessment simulation event in the UK. Hosted at Watford Stadium, 1100 students were able to benefit from the programme in November 2017 and the programme is due to support almost 2000 students this year.

Judith Baines, Head of Careers and Employment Service at University of Hertfordshire commented: “We are thrilled to hear that the Assessment Centre Experience programme has been shortlisted for two awards. Working with Smart Resourcing Solutions has been brilliant throughout, ensuring we could offer an outstanding, realistic experience for our second year learners. Partnering with SRS has meant we could scale up our offer to more students and still ensure a professional and realistic environment. We are pleased that the success of this project is being recognised by employers and the wider industry as the feedback from students has already been fantastic.”

Sophie Milliken, Managing Director at Smart Resourcing Solutions is delighted: “The ISE awards are special as they are so specific to our industry. Being a finalist in two categories this year with our partners at University of Hertfordshire is a wonderful recognition of the hard work of a number of brilliant people – the whole Careers Service, key stakeholders within each of the Schools, our employer supporters, Watford Stadium and my own team. This is the largest assessment simulation in the UK and we are so proud of this recognition.”
