One of the most important government initiatives of the last few years is the Widening Participation agenda. We teamed up with the University of Leeds to support their Widening Participation students who had expressed a lack of confidence in applying for Placement and/or Graduate positions and who felt anxious about attending an Assessment Centre.

Take a look at the case study to find out what we did and the positive impact it had.

SRS and MMU celebrate five year collaboration with new video showcasing assessment simulation event

SRS_12.jpg

SRS recently enjoyed our fifth year running the now legendary large-scale assessment simulation event for Manchester Metropolitan University students. We’ve come a long way from our first year where we ran the event at a hotel in Cheadle. From year two onwards, we have worked with the Etihad Stadium which we find works well to replicate a head office environment and provide simple logistics to ensure the event runs smoothly.

Caroline Herz from the Manchester Fashion Institute at MMU said the following after this year’s event:

“2018 has been a special year in our partnership with SRS - This year we celebrated working with Sophie for the fifth year, and held our 'Mock Assessment Centre' at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester. Each year we embed employability and employment into our curriculum to provide an 'experiential learning experience' for our students in their 6th week of term. The success of this event gets better and better each year, our students are 'talent scouted' from industry assessors at the event, and we have built a reputation for being 'ahead of the competition' in the placement stakes. Sophie's smoothly run operational practices are given with boundless energy, enthusiasm and support. She and her team give us 110% professionalism, and long may it continue. Sophie and the team at SRS - congratulations for all your hard work in providing us with this outstanding experience, and service, we learn so much every year, and wish you all the very best and lots more 'awards' for the future.”
